Public Comment:

Director’s Report

- Programs:  Story time, stash busters, Dorr garden club, Tai Chi, felted eggs, soap making, glass fusing, book club, medicare/medicade presentation, pennies on the sidewalk Money Smart Week.  Upcoming: Magic string Easter eggs, teen game night, world book night, garden club, Tai Chi, stash busters, story time, book club, CPR, Mango languages and Antiques Reference are live.  Currently finishing Summer Reading program schedule.

- Publicity: Facebook, library website, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Karen reading to kids and judging at Dorr Elementary

- Meetings, workshops, etc.: Director’s summit meeting, Rural Library conference - finishing as awards chair in March, LLC Board meeting, Attended the PLA conference March 10-15, preparing presentation for LLC continuing education (Karen and Shera), finishing two presentations for the Rural Libraries conference at the end of April/beginning of May, ACLA Meeting (Karen)

- Building: Waiting on Fire detector installation, asking for quotes for replacement counter tops and carpet squares

- Library Closures: Easter Saturday

- Volunteers: Teen group has helped with set up of tables and programs, additional volunteers being added, working with other local organizations to set up monthly displays in our lobby.

- Lakeland, State and other library news: State librarian retirement

- Patron comments/suggestions: book and dvd suggestions are being processed, programming suggestions are beginning, many compliments on our new Book Sale Room

- Other: Crafting closet up and running, book donations are coming in, purchasing additional items at auctions, set up recycling bins for batteries and collecting pop tabs as well as box tops for the schools, working to clean and organize the mechanical room, receiving joint grant for makerspace items and programming, applying for additional grants, going to inspect wall display cases, looking into the possibility of an outdoor drive up bookdrop, beginning audit prep work.

Old Business: Art wall, Computer upgrades - being completed, 2013/2014 Budget Amendments - at the May meeting following final billable items for March (computers, programs, payroll taxes)

New Business: Lending Nooks/Kindles - lending agreement and policy, Beginning Workshop, Staff reviews and discussion of raises
