Information about Dorr Township and the surrounding areas.

Dorr Township is an township located in the northeast of Allegan County, MI. It is bordered by Leighton Township to the east, Hopkins Township to the south, Salem Township to the west and Byron Township, Kent County to the north. As of the 2010 census, the population is 7,439.

The township is served by two elementary schools of two different school districts. Sycamore Elementary of Hopkins Public Schools and covers the west portion of the township (the area west of 18th Street), and Dorr Elementary of Wayland Union Schools and covers the east portion of the township (the area east of 18th Street). 

Every July the Dorr Business Association (DBA) hosts a multi-day celebration for Independence Day. There are carnivals, ox-roasts, singing competitions, bingo games, a parade and fireworks. In 2019, Dorr celebrated it's sesquicentennial and the DBA and Sesquicentennial committee planned a week-long celebration.
