Dorr Township Library

Date: September 14, 2015

6:30 P.M.

MINUTES

Meeting was called to order at 6:34pm by Peggy Otto, President.

Pledge of Allegiance: Was said.

Roll Call: Present- Tara Reece, Peggy Otto, Louis Harnish, Barbara Gibson, Rachel Vote, Ken Huizinga. Absent- None. Karen Brower, Library Employee, was also present. 0 visitors.

Approval of the Agenda: Reece motioned to approve the amended agenda to reflect the correct amount for the credit card to $1625.74, seconded by Vote. All yes, motion carried.

Approval of the Minutes: Motioned to approve the August 2015 Minutes by Otto, seconded by Gibson. All yes, motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Otto motioned to receive and file the August 2015 Treasurer’s report, seconded by Huizinga. All yes, motion carried. Otto motioned, seconded by Vote, to pay the August 2015 credit card bill in the amount of $1625.74. All yes, motion carried.

Public Comment: None.

Director’s Report: Brower provided information about library programming and events during the preceding month and upcoming events. She also provided reports on meetings attended by the Director, grant applications, building issues, and ongoing library functioning. Also discussed the air conditioning issue that occurred last month. The Township will be addressing this since it is part of building maintenance.

Township Board Meeting: The next meeting is September 29, 2015. Otto and Bazan will attend this meeting. Otto attended the previous meeting and provided a three-minute update on library events and programming. Circulation was significantly higher

Committee Reports: None.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. Update on People Counter: Bazan presented the updated estimate for the People Counter. The updated estimate is at $1375.00. This estimate is higher than expected because the previous model was discontinued. Based on the current estimate and following a discussion with regard to the features of the People Counter, we decided that the motion from the previous month (to spend no more than $800.00) will not work for this purchase . Based on this new information and the estimate, Vote made a new motion to purchase this People Counter in the amount $1375.00, seconded by Gibson. All yes, motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. None

Adjournment: Vote motioned, Reece seconded to adjourn at 7:04pm. All yes.
